Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat interacted with doctors and patients in Covid hospitals of the state through a virtual conference on Wednesday. He said that the work being done by doctors under difficult circumstances is akin to a penance. Expressing confidence that the fight against Covid-19 will be won, he said that the patients undergoing treatment will also recover and return home soon. Rawat said this while interacting with doctors and patients in the Dehradun, Haldwani and Srinagar medical colleges and district hospitals.
The CM sought information from doctors about the condition of patients, ventilators, ICU, oxygen beds and availability of necessary equipment to deal with Covid.Stating that the government is making all possible efforts to control Covid, he commended the hospitals considering how the patients are satisfied with arrangements in the hospitals. Interacting with the Covid patients, the CM asked them about the treatment, food and other arrangements. The patients were appreciative of the hospital arrangements. Informing the CM about the arrangements, the Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) principal Dr Ashutosh Sayana said that the medical college is fully prepared to face future challenges. While 33 patients are currently in ICU, the number of ICU beds has also been increased.
Dr Paramjit Singh of Haldwani medical college informed Rawat that work on plasma therapy is being undertaken in Haldwani for which people have also been requested to donate plasma. The CM also talked to doctors in Srinagar medical college, Kotdwar base hospital, Mela hospital in Haridwar and in Chamoli, asking about the situation in the districts where the hospitals are located.
Health secretary Amit Singh Negi said that the Health department is attempting to ensure good treatment to the patients. All possible improvements will be made in the treatment and the sample testing will also be increased.
