Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Rudrapur where he is also slated to address a public gathering, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and senior BJP leaders participated in bhoomi pujan of the programme venue.
Inspecting the arrangements for the PM’s rally, the CM issued necessary instructions to the officials concerned. He said that the Prime Minister’s rally would be unprecedented and historic. Stating that there is enthusiasm across the State in view of Modi’s visit, Rawat said that a large number of people from both Kumaon and Garhwal regions are expected to attend the Prime Minister’s rally.
Rawat further said that the Central Government had provided various beneficial steps for the State. A detailed project report for Nainital drinking water scheme is being prepared. He said that the much awaited Jamrani dam project has been granted approval by the Central Water Commission technical advisory committee. Stating that it was a multi-purpose scheme, he expressed hope that it would be declared a national project.
In addition to electricity, the States of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh would also receive water for irrigation and drinking from this project.
The Bharatiya Janata Party state president Ajay Bhatt also expressed his views on the occasion. Education minister Arvind Pande, State Minister for Cooperatives and Higher Education, Dhan Singh Rawat, Kichha MLA Rajesh Shukla, Khatima MLA Pushkar Singh Dhami and others were also among those present on the occasion.
