CM inaugurates new building of NHM at DG health office
Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has inaugurated the new office building of National Health Mission (NHM) at the state health directorate on Wednesday. He also laid the foundation stone of State Drug Testing Laboratory, office building of state drug controller and transit hostel for medical officers, on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Rawat said that concerted efforts are needed to make the health facilities more comprehensive and beneficial. He claimed that after Gujarat, Uttarakhand has become the second state in the country which has a separate office of NHM. Rawat said that the work load on the big hospitals would get reduced when the specialist doctors under their social responsibility initiative start to give their services in the mountainous areas twice or thrice a month. He pointed out that the specialist doctors are providing this type of services in Pipalkoti (Chamoli) and Agastyamuni (Rudraprayag).
He declared that a single window system would be implemented for manufacturers of Allopathic and Ayurvedic medicines in the state. CM further said that there are 300 drug manufacturing firms in Uttarakhand while 150 units are engaged in the manufacture of cosmetics. He informed that the Centre has provided a budget of Rs 14 crore for office of drug controller and lab testing facility.
A separate office for NHM has been constructed on the fourth floor of the office of DH health services at an estimated cost of Rs 6.44 crore. NHM is also funding the construction of transit hostels for doctors at every district headquarter at a cost of Rs 45.38 crore.
The programme was attended among others by Raipur MLA Umesh Sharma Kau, secretary health Nitesh Jha and DG health Dr T C Pant.
