The chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has directed the Dehradun district magistrate Ashish Kumar Shrivastava to facilitate swift redressal of the water logging problem being faced in the city. The CM directed that the water logging problem especially in Teachers Colony, Govindgarh and Mitralok Colony should be resolved without delay in coordination with the departments concerned.
The Dehradun Cantt MLA Harbans Kapoor met the CM late on Monday evening to inform him about the water logging problem in his constituency and related issues. He requested necessary measures especially for resolving the water logging problem faced a day earlier due to heavy rain in the Teachers Colony in Govindgarh and Mitralok Colony. After hearing the MLA, the CM directed the district magistrate to facilitate swift action to resolve the water logging problem being faced in various areas of the provisional state capital. The Dehradun mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’ was also present on the occasion.
It is pertinent to mention here that heavy rain in the recent past has caused considerable problems in different localities of Dehradun where the rainwater entered homes while overflowing drains caused waterlogging on main roads. With the city forecast to experience heavy rains from Tuesday evening to Wednesday night, it remains to be seen whether the repercussions of this spell will be any different.
