Girls again outshine boys in Dehradun region. Students of KVs and Navodaya Vidyalayas excel
Like they did in class XII, the students of Kendriya Vidyalayas (KV) and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNV) again showed excellent performance in the results of the Secondary School Examination (class X) of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared on Wednesday. In the examination the pass percentage of the students of Dehradun region was 89.72 percent. The pass percentage of the students of KVS remained at an excellent 99.56 percent while 98.94 percent of the students of JNV passed the examination. The students of Central Tibetan School Administration (CTSA) also performed well with a pass percentage of 93.78 percent. In Dehradun region the girls again outshone the boys. In the examination 92.82 percent girls passed as compared to pass percentage of 87.70 of the boys. The regional officer (RO) of CBSE Dehradun, Ranbir Singh said that the class X result showed an improvement of 2.38 percent this year. Last year 87.34 percent students cleared the examinations as compared to pass percentage of 89.72 percent this year. In Dehradun region a total of 80122 students had registered for exams out of whom 79631 appeared. Rishit Agarwal of Bhartiyam International School Rameshwarpur, Udham Singh Nagar scored 498 marks out of 500 and was ranked at first position in the merit.
In an appeal to the parents, the CBSE has said that they should not exert pressure on their wards to choose stream and students should be allowed to choose the stream of their choice.
