Various decisions taken in cabinet meeting on Sunday
The Uttarakhand State Cabinet has increased the dearness allowance for State Government employees by three per cent. Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat had been authorised to take this decision in the Cabinet meeting. This dearness allowance will be applicable from January 1, 2019 whereas the arrear from January to March will be deposited in the GPF.
With this decision taken in the Cabinet meeting on Sunday, the dearness allowance for State Government employees in Uttarakhand is now 12 per cent. This decision along with decisions on 14 other issues were taken in the Cabinet meeting held on Sunday evening in the provisional State Capital Dehradun under Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat.
Cabinet Minister and State Government spokesman Madan Kaushik informed that int he Cabinet meeting presided over by the Chief Minister on Sunday evening, a total of 17 issues were on the agenda. Out of these issues, the Cabinet took decision on 15 issues during the meeting while decision on two issues was differed. The most important decision was to approve the proposal for increasing dearness allowance for State Government employees by three per cent.
The Cabinet meeting began at the Chief Minister’s official residence in Dehradun on Sunday evening. Briefing the media about the decisions taken in the meeting, State Government spokesman and Cabinet Minister Madan Kaushik stated that the dearness allowance for State Government employees had been increased by three per cent. The State Cabinet also granted its approval to the proposal for floating solar power houer in the State.
In the first stage, this power house will be set up at three places in Udham Singh Nagar district-Haripuro, Tomariya and Bor. The Government of India will bear the expense incurred on establishing these solar power plants.
These power plants will be set up as part of 25 year contracts entered into under public private partnership mode.
Further, the Cabinet approved appointment of 367 workers on contract in the transport department. Under medical education, approval was also granted to appointment through outsourcing to 37 posts in nursing institution. The allowance of experts in the medical selection board was also fixed.
Further, the Cabinet approved the decision to grant .4 hectare land free of cost in Almora district to the Government of India for setting up centre of excellence. Taking a decision on the water and sewerage bills of persons rehabilitated for construction of Tehri dam, the cabinet decided to form a committe on this issue for the future apart from waiving of bills amounting to Rs 70 crore which would benefit about 10,000 people. Amendment to food and civil supply department regulations was also approved.
Further, the cabinet also approved the proposal for Uttarakhand transport corporation purchasing 300 buses from its Uttar Pradesh counterpart.
