Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat averred that in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party will repeat its performance of 2014 when it had won in all the five parliamentary constituencies in Uttarakhand. Considering results of the Vidhan Sabha bypoll and the recently concluded local body polls, it is clear that the public is happy with the works done by the BJP Government and will support the party in the 2019 parliamentary polls. Rawat said this while addressing the media here on Monday.
Replying to a question regarding apparent differences within the party, he said that it was an internal matter which would be resolved mutually. He said that all possible attempt is being made to fulfill the announcements being made by him.
Rawat said that he did not believe in making a series of announcements as was done by the previous Congress-led state government. He said that the previous State Government had approved developmental works costing Rs 4,200 crore whereas the budgetary provision for this was only Rs 400 crore. The current Government is executing all developmental works with full transparency, he added.
Replying to a query, the CM said that he himself is concerned about the landslides at Baliyanala in Nainital. The help of experts from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will be taken for preventing landslides here.
