The head office of U’khand BJP closed for two days. Speaker Agarwal goes into self isolation
The positive test report for Covid-19 of President of Uttarakhand BJP, Bansidhar Bhagat has created panic among the politicians, bureaucrats and others who met him during the last few days. The state headquarters of Uttarakhand BJP was closed for two days and the speaker of Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha, Premchand Agarwal went into self isolation after Bhagat was tested positive.
The information that he has tested positive for Covid-19 was provided by Bhagat himself on Saturday morning. On Friday his son was also found positive for the disease in Haldwani. On Saturday evening Bhagat was admitted in the Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital. In his message, the BJP president also asked all those who had come into his contact to get tested and expressed hope that he would overcome the disease.
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Dehradun, Dr Anup Dimri told The Pioneer that Bhagat is stable and was admitted in the hospital considering his advanced stage. He said that the persons who came into close contact with the leader should get tested for Covid-19.
Meanwhile a worried state unit of BJP announced closure of its office for two days. The party decided that the office would be sanitized for two days. The speaker Premchand Agarwal went into isolation at his Yamuna Colony residence. Agarwal had recently met Bhagat. The speaker has cancelled all his public engagements and has decided to get himself and family members tested for Covid-19.
Incidentally the state president of BJP was very active in the last few days. On August 24, Bhagat had shifted to his new official residence at Yamuna Colony. Here a house warming ceremony followed by a Lunch was held. Large number of people including the ministers and leaders had attended the programme in which the Khanpur MLA Pranav Singh Champion was taken back into the party’s fold. Now all those who met Bhagat in the last few days are worried and are either isolating themselves or are undergoing tests.
