Party has sent him a notice of expulsion and state unit after receiving the reply of Champion would send its recommendation to central leadership.
Amid confusion over expulsion of controversial MLA Pranav Singh Champion from BJP, the national Vice President and in charge of state BJP, Shyam Jaju has clarified Friday that a final decision to expel Champion from the party would be taken by the central leadership. He said that the party has sent him a notice of expulsion and state unit of party after receiving the reply of Champion on notice within ten days or in case of not receiving any reply would send its recommendation to central leadership.
The media in charge of state BJP, Devendra Bhasin said that on the cognizance taken by the central and state leadership on the objectionable viral video of Khanpur MLA Pranav Singh Champion, the state general secretary of the party Anil Goyal has sent a notice to Champion on the directive of the state party president Ajay Bhatt. In the notice, the controversial MLA has been asked to reply within ten days as to why he should not be expelled from the party in the viral video case. He added that on receipt of reply within ten days from Champion or in case of not receiving any reply the state leadership of party would send its recommendation to the central leadership. Bhasin said that the state party president Ajay Bhatt has extended the three month suspension slapped on Champion in the month of June to indefinite period. He also added that taking exception of the incidence, Shayam Jahu has recommended central leadership to expel Champion from the party. Bhasin clarified that only the central leadership of the BJP has the power to expel any MLA or MP from the party.
Controversial Khanpur MLA Champion is in eye of a major controversy after a video featuring him went viral on social media platforms. In the video Champion in is seen brandishing firearms and dancing to tunes of a popular Bollywood song while sipping what looks like Alcohol. What offended the people of Uttarakhand was the highly abusive language used by MLA for state of Uttarakhand in the video.
