Responding to the claim made by Congress about providing free meals in villages during the Covid pandemic, the Bharatiya Janata Party has asked the party leaders to name just 11 places where they ran free kitchens during the pandemic. The BJP state vice president and media in-charge Devendra Bhasin said that the Congress which is leveling allegations on BJP MLAs on the issue of their pay deduction while claiming to have provided help across the state should name just 11 places where its leaders ran free kitchens for three months. “The Congress leaders should also state how many dry ration packets were distributed, when and where. How many sanitisers and masks did they distribute, when and where? The Congress leaders should also state how many tickets did they provide to people returning by train or bus to Uttarakhand and where did they arrange food for such returnees. The Congress leaders have been repeatedly seeking an account of the CM relief fund but they should also inform the people of the State whether the party contributed even four anas to this fund. They should also tell whether they donated even 25 paise in the PM CARES fund,” said Bhasin.
On the issue of salary deduction of MLAs, Bhasin said that the Congress leaders should know that BJP MLAs have been getting their salaries deducted since two months before the Congress MLAs. Across the country, not a single BJP MLA opposed the salary deduction but in Uttarakhand and elsewhere in the country the Congress MLAs opposed it. Apart from this, the BJP MLAs have been helping at the organisational level and have been serving the people in various other ways, added Bhasin.
