Candidate selection upto Central leadership

He said that any decision on fielding candidates in the Lok Sabha election is to be taken by the central leadership. It should be mentioned here that recently there has been rise in speculation in some media reports and social media about Kothiyal joining the BJP and contesting from the Garhwal constituency.
He had gained popularity while heading the Kedarnath reconstruction works after the 2013 disaster.
