Ajay Bhatt should apologise for his anti-women comment: Garima Dasauni
Taking a strong exception to what she dubs as a highly objectionable comment allegedly made by the State BJP president Ajay Bhatt on Me-2 case, the spokesperson of Uttarakhand Congress Garima Dasauni said on Thursday that a person sitting on such a responsible position should think twice before stooping to such a low in public discourse while commenting on women. The Congress leader demanded Bhatt to seek a public apology on such a deprecating comment which is against the culture of the country and the state.
She said that the Me-2 case has shown the true attitude the BJP and the RSS leaders have towards the women. “The mask slipping off from the saffron party’s face, the real face is coming to fore, leaving the people horrified. The recent statement of Mahanagar BJP chief Vinay Goyal has hurt both the women who are in politics and also the Dalit community people. Things are continuing with the saffron leaders going amok in their utterances,” she said.
Launching a scathing attack on the State BJP chief for his alleged comment which he allegedly made when asked about the profession of the BJP worker who lodged a complaint against a senior State BJP leader, the state Congress spokesperson said that it is all the more unfortunate when it is related to its timing. “It came at a time when FIR has been lodged by the police on the complaint of the victim,” she said.
She further said that Bhatt must explain why he had gone for such a comment. “He himself is a lawyer and he should thus account for his comment by making it clear who gave him the authority to give a clean chit to the accused in the case,” Dasauni said. Read More
