‘Statements made by MLA against party leaders & government not acceptable’
Taking cognisance of remarks made by a party MLA questioning the sitting MP and Government, the BJP State president Ajay Bhatt has asked ticket hopefuls to exercise control on their speech. Statements against the party or government may prove detrimental to the leaders making them, he warned.
In an official statement issued by the party, it was stated that Bhatt had taken cognisnace of the statements made by the MLA and stressed that discipline is most important in the party.
He further said that demanding ticket to contest the election is the right of all party workers but none have the right to break the traditions maintained in the party. Bhatt said that the MLA in his statements had questioned the party’s senior leaders, development works and the government which is not acceptable under any circumstance. The MLA was incorrect regarding tenders not being done and government orders not being issued. As far as selection of candidates is concerned, the party high command will take the decision. The names of all the applicants for the party ticket will be examined and sent to the central leadership, added Bhatt.
It should be mentioned here that Khanpur MLA Pranav Singh ‘Champion’ on Monday criticised the party’s Haridwar MP Ramesh Pokhriyal. Averring that the people of Haridwar constituency want a local MP, he demanded that his wife Devyani Singh be fielded by the party in this constituency.
