Bed/ TET federation on dharna outside Edu Minister’s residence
Agitated members of the Federation of Unemployed Bachelor of Education, Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) Qualified Youth have started a sit-in outside the residence of the state education minister. The members of the federation who had earlier been camping outside the office of education director have shifted base and have now been sitting on dharna outside the residence of the education minister since the past two days. The education minister Arvind Pandey was not in the city for the past two days. But the members of the federation said that they would not leave till they meet him.
The members of the federation are annoyed over the state government’s decision to change the ‘ Teacher Recruitment Guideline’ which dispensed with the practice of following a pattern in the selection of primary teachers by way of which the year-wise seniority of doing the B.Ed degree was considered paramount in making the merit list for selection.
Addressing the agitators, the patron of the federation, Manveer Rawat said that the thousands of the unemployed B.Ed –TET qualified candidates are agitated over the incorporation of unwarranted changes in selection criteria. He warned that the federation would intensify their agitation if their one- point demand of following the old pattern in selection of primary teachers is not accepted.
