The chief minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat has said that the banks are contributing a lot in development of the state. While meeting Zonal Head of Allahabad Bank, Seema Narang at his residence on Saturday, the CM hoped that like they helped in making Aadhaar cards, the Allahabad Bank officials will cooperate in providing ‘Golden Cards’ to the beneficiaries of the Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojana of state government.
Narang told Rawat that through network of its 41 branches in the rural areas of all the districts, Allahabad Bank is making significant contribution in government schemes, poverty eradication, agricultural modernization and Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) of the state.
She disclosed that the bank has so far approved loans to the tune of Rs 10 crores in the state under ‘Mudra Yojana’ and start up scheme. The official claimed that while laying focus on financial inclusion, Allahabad Bank has opened 68000 accounts in the state under the Prime Minister Jan Dhan Yojana. The bank is keeping special attention on Aadhaar seeding, PMSBY Yojana registration, PMJJBY Yojana registration and RuPay card.
She added that the total business of the bank in the state was Rs 3100 crores in year 2018 and it is actively participating in implementation of various government schemes in the state along with state-centric schemes such as Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Yojana, and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Grih Awas Yojana.
The Chief Manager of the Bank Maan Singh Negi, Senior Manager Devendra Kandpal and Umesh Joshi were also present on the occasion.
