He is now on bail from the court. The marriage was a buzz of the town Roorkee on Tuesday. He did not take anything in dowry except a silver coin which was appreciated by the clan.
In the B.T Ganj area of Roorkee, Sher Singh Rana alias Sheru married Pratima of Chhatarpur of MP in elaborate ceremony. Rana said he was strictly against the tradition of dowry in India.
Rana was awarded life term in 2014 under section of 302 murder, 307 attempt to murder under Indian Penal Code by the Delhi Court. Phoolan, then a Samajwadi Party MP from Mirzapur constituency of Uttar Pradesh had been shot dead by three shooters near her residence. Notably the court had ordered Rana to report to superintendent of police (SP) of Roorkee, Uttarakhand on the second Saturday of June and December every year from December 10, 2016.
It is learnt that Rana had murdered Phoolan to take revenge of the killing of Rajputs which he had openly confessed during a Press conference a few years ago. Phoolan had surrendered herself after killing Rajputs in their village.
