AWGP to launch thought revolution campaign during Kumbh Mela
All World Gayatri Pariwar (AWGP) is all set to launch a string of awareness programmes during the Kumbh Mela being held at Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh. The head of AWGP Pranav Pandya said that his organisation would launch thought revolution campaign during the mega religious congregation. “We think that the congregation is not just meant for religious discourses and holy dips but it should also be used in hosting awareness programmes regarding the need of women empowerment, keeping the holy Ganga clean and the like,” he said.
It is learnt that AWGP volunteers would distribute the books penned by Acharya Sri Ram Sharma during the readers’ conclave which would be hosted in course of the country’s biggest religious congregation. Pandya said that a host of programmes would be started from January 17 to be organised by his organisation’s volunteers who have been trained for the purpose.
Speaking to The Pioneer, the national coordinator of Shantikunj Kalicharan Sharma said that the campaign would start with a grand procession followed with mahayajna. From January 18, 108 kundiya yajnas would be performed, he added. Pandya further said that the campaigns to be launched during the mela would be themed on women empowerment, nirmal Ganga abhiyan (clean Ganga campaign), water conservation and tree plantation. “We are determined to make the holy congregation an occasion to launch social awareness and environmental awareness campaigns. The timeless religious traditions associated with the mela for millennia should be blended with social and environmental messages to make things complete. We are particularly focused on Ganga which embodies the soul of the holy land. It must be helped to keep its unimpeded and clean flow for the survival of our culture. All the dedicated volunteers of the pariwar would plunge headlong into reaching out to the people who would gather with their messages,” he added.
