All know Lord Ram was born in Ayodhya: Chief Minister
As per long-held beliefs, everybody knows and accepts that Lord Ram was born in Ayodhya, said Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat. While replying to media queries about sadhus congregating in large numbers in Ayodhya, he asked whether they would congregate in Kaaba if not in Ayodhya. The CM was interacting with the media persons at a local hotel here on Sunday.
On being asked for his response to Congress criticizing the decision to name Dehradun airport after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee as the previous Congress State Government had proposed to name it after Adi Shankaracharya, the CM said that the Congress Government had made a number of proposals. “They had also proposed OBC status for the whole of Uttarakhand. During its tenure, the Congress Government in the State had also approved roads costing Rs 4,200 crore whereas there was only Rs 400 crore budgetary provision for that specific work. We do not believe in making false promises to the public,” he said.
Regarding the decision taken to strictly enforce no work-no pay principle in case of government employees going on strike, he said that the employees should talk to the government instead of going on strike as it results in wastage of public money and inconvenience to the public. He reiterated that the Rispana river will be revived in two years but also stressed that the public will also have to play its role in ensuring the desired level of sanitation in the state. read more posts…
