
Dehradun feels proud to organize the event and every effort would be made to make it a huge success: Saxena
Four days All India Life Insurance Corporation ( LIC) of India, games started at Maharana Pratap Sports College here on Monday.
The opening ceremony witnessed a spectacular march past by the teams representing Eight zones of LIC. The Chief guest of the ceremony was Managing Director (MD) of LIC, B Venugopal. He said that the corporation is pleased to organize the annual national games in Dehradun.
He said that all players would give their best and show sportsmanship during the event.
The Senior Divisional Manager (SDM), Dehradun, P K Saxena said that Dehradun feels proud to organize the event and every effort would be made to make it a huge success.
In the sports event, 392 players (250 Men, 442 Women) of LIC representing 112 divisional offices country are taking part. In the meet, players would take part in Athletics, Volleyball, Badminton, Carrom, Chess, and Table Tennis events.
On opening day, Joyleen More Lobo and Dheeraj Mishra won gold medals in the Triple jump women and men category respectively.
The 110-meter hurdle race in man’s category was won by K A Yogesh. In 200 meter race, D L Judge and Anu Marium won gold in men and women categories respectively.
In Badminton matches that were played on the day, Prem Singh Chauhan defeated Jayant Talukdar 21-10 and 21-8.
In volleyball, South Central zone team defeated East central zone by 25-7, 25-13, 25-17. North zone scored 25-11, 25- 06 and 25-20 to win its match in another volleyball match on the day. read more posts…
