In these times the study and propagation of the Vedas and the knowledge they contain has become all the more important. The Vidhan Sabha Speaker and Rishikesh MLA, Prem Chand Agrawal said this at the inauguration of a national Veda conference in Vikasnagar on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Agrawal said that the spiritual, religious and scientific importance of the Vedas should be presented before the masses in this modern era. He appreciated the fact that Pundits and scholars will recite from the four Vedas for world peace and harmony during the two-day national meet.
He further said that the Vedas encompass knowledge about God, universe, astrology, mathematics, chemicals, medicine, nature, geography, religious rules, history and most other subjects. The solution to all problems encountered in modern society is there in the Vedas.
He said, “Today we are facing problems like deteriorating environment, misbehavior with women and domestic disturbances. The reason for this is the lack of knowledge enshrined in the Vedas. The knowledge of environmental conservation, women empowerment and domestic accord is given in Vedic mantras. For establishing a positive society, attempts should be made on a large scale to spread this knowledge among the masses,” he said.
The minister of state for higher education, Dhan Singh Rawat, Vikasnagar municipal council chairperson Shanti Jwatha, chief organizer of the event Sunil Painyuli, Uttarakhand Sanskrit Vishwavidyalay vice chancellor Piyush Kant Dikshit and others were also present on the occasion. Read more posts…
