The process of online admissions in the Doon University started on Wednesday. In view of the prevailing pandemic of Covid-19, the university is not organising the entrance examinations this year. The university would prepare a merit list based on the marks obtained by the students in their class XII examination and use this for granting admission in its different courses. The Vice Chancellor (VC) of the Doon University, A K Karnatak said that the interested students can apply on the website (www.doonuniversity.org) of the university till September 30. On October 5, the university would publish the merit list and declare the result.
Meanwhile confusion still prevails over the schedule of the final year examinations. The universities are waiting for the new standard operating procedure (SOP) for Covid-19. More than 41000 students would participate in the final year examination of the HNB Garhwal University this year. The university is gearing up for the examinations and has set up examination centres in different parts of the state for the purpose. The university is particularly worried about 5000 students from other states. After the imposition of lockdown and closure of universities, these students had returned to their respective states. These students would have to return back to the state to write their final year examinations.
