Extra care is being taken to ensure that accurate information is uploaded as part of the Swachchh Survekshan in Dehradun. Stating this, the Dehradun municipal commissioner Vijay Kumar Jogdande said that the central team currently in Dehradun is reviewing the relevant documentation which will later be uploaded as part of the nation-wide sanitation survey. He said that in case of discrepencies in the documentation and ground situation, there is provision for negative marking in the Swachchh Survekshan. Considering this, extra care is being observed to ensure that there is no negative marking for Dehradun, he said.
As part of the Swachchh Survekshan, a three-member team arrived in Dehradun and began reviewing documentation and conducting field visits on February 12 as part of the national level survey.
It will be recalled here that Dehradun had fared poorly in the Swachchh Survekshan in 2017, failing to secure a place even in the top 200 of 434 cities covered in the survey. In the survey conducted last year, the provisional State capital was ranked 316.
A total of 88 urban local bodies and nine cantonment board areas are being surveyed as part of the nationwide sanitation survey in U’khand.
As part of the Swachchh Survekshan 2018, sanitation in urban local bodies is being evaluated on the basis of many parameters including waste mgmt operations, citizen feedback and independent field observation.
