ADMIN GEARS UP REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION, DM REVIEWS PREPARATION
The Pauri district administration is now gearing up for the Republic Day celebration. A meeting was held at the Collectorate on Tuesday chaired by the district magistrate Sushil Kumar. People from every section of the society turned up and suggested ways of how to celebrate the national day appropriately. DM said that the tri-colour would be unfurled at all the government and the non- government offices at 9.30 am on the Republic Day. The principal function of the district would be held at Kandoliya Ground which would feature march past by different wings of the police department like National Cadet Crops and Home Guards. Besides, the students would present cultural programmes to mark the day.
DM asked the officers concerned to illuminate the government and non- government offices. Besides, the martyrs’ column and the places where the statues of the freedom fighters are should be illuminated too, he said. He also instructed Nagar Palika Parishad to launch cleanliness drive in the urban areas and Zila Panchayat in the rural areas. The same drive would be launched in Vikas Bhawan on January 17 and in the slum area on January 18. All the sub –divisional magistrates of the district have been asked to distribute fruits among the patients in the hospitals.
