Uttarkashi police helping drug victims turn over a new leaf

In latest news from Uttarakhand, under the direction of the superintendent of police Uttarkashi Arpan Yaduvanshi, the district police have launched a special campaign named Udayan to free the youths trapped in substance abuse. As part of this campaign, the police are identifying the youths in their designated areas and then providing them counselling and rehabilitation facilities.

The in-charge inspector of Dharasu police station Dinesh Kumar said they had identified 15 drug-consuming youngsters in his police station area and calling them to the police station, they counselled them. Besides, they were provided with the address of a rehabilitation centre where they might go for further help in ridding themselves of the substance abuse menace.  “We are keeping them under observation and keeping track of their progress,” he added.
