Trekking to be organised to Pindari glacier & Bagchi Bugyal
The Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) has invited tour operators for the Trek of the Year. The department will also provide a subsidy of Rs 2,000 per trekker to the tour operators. The tour operators will have to register on the UTDB website in order to participate in the trekking programme. Only those tour operators will be allowed to participate who organise treks for at least 500 trekkers in a year.
The UTDB has declared the Pindari glacier trek in Bageshwar district from October 1 to November 15 and the Bagchi Bugyal trek in Chamoli district from December 1 to January 15 as Trek of the Year. Additional CEO (adventure wing) Ashwini Pundir informed that UTDB has invited tour operators to organise their treks at Pindari glacier and Bagchi Bugyal during the said period. The interested tour operators can register after September 30 on the Tourism department’s website https://uttarakhandtourism.gov.in/.
They will have to upload a trekking agency-company certificate, certificate of registration with the department and certificate of organising treks for 500 trekkers on the website.
