68 patients recover, taking total of discharged patients to 1,721
With 88 persons testing positive for Covid-19 in the state on Wednesday, the total of Covid positive cases has risen to 2623 in Uttarakhand. At the same time, according to the health department, 68 patients recovered from the disease on Wednesday, taking the total number of recovered and discharged patients to 1,721.
According to the health bulletin issued by the health department a total of 88 Covid-19 positive cases came to light in different districts of the state on Wednesday. These included 16 cases in Dehradun, 26 in Udham Singh Nagar, 17 in Tehri, nine in Pauri, seven in Nainital, six in Haridwar and one in Pithoragarh district. While the total number of Covid positive cases climbed up to 2623, on the positive side- 68 patients also recovered on Wednesday. With the total of recovered patients discharged from the hospitals also rising to 1,721 there are now 902 active cases of Covid-19 in the state. Meanwhile, more than 1,419 samples were tested for Covid in government labs and more than 53 were tested in private labs on Wednesday. At least 1115 samples were sent for testing on the same day. So far, more than 59,000 samples have been sent for Covid-19 test in the state. The results of about 3,636 samples are awaited. According to the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, about 1,600 tests are being conducted daily in the state while the recovery rate is about 64 per cent. Within one week, the state is going to develop capacity for conducting 2,000 tests daily which will also resolve the waiting list.
