700 Govt services to be available through CSCs, villages to be digitally enabled: CM
In the near future, more than 700 services of the State Government will be made available to the common man through Common Service Centres (CSCs).
Further, one village in each block of Uttarakhand will be made digitally enabled, said chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat while attending a conference at the IRDT auditorium here. The chief minister said that presently more than 5000 Common Service Centres are active in Uttarakhand.
In the state, 9622 Common Service Centres are registered, out of which 7619 are in rural area and around two thousand are in the urban area.
Till now, 233044 beneficiaries have been registered in the State, out of which 100412 beneficiaries are certified.
Rawat said that the way the CSC is working in the state shows that Uttarakhand is fast moving forward in the field of information technology. The effort of the Uttarakhand Government is to provide WiFi services in the entire state as soon as possible.
The State Government has made policy changes to enable provision of the services to the common man through technology in the remote areas.
If the villages are digitally enabled, the villagers will get the benefit of maximum government services and schemes.
Last year, the state government introduced teleradiology and telemedicine.
Thirty-five major hospitals, especially in remote areas, have been linked to telemedicine and teleradiology. Today, through technology, the benefits of the services of health experts from other parts of the country and abroad are reaching residents of the remote villages.
Through technology and internet, Uttarakhand government has also been successful in providing quality health and education services in remote villages like Ghes, Himni, and Pipalkoti. On the basis of local resources, the Uttarakhand government is working on the concept of growth center development to strengthen the local economy and create more employment opportunities for the locals, added Rawat.
