69 new Covid patients reported, 35 discharged & one dies on Tuesday
The tally of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) in Uttarakhand jumped to 3230 on Tuesday as the state health department reported 69 new patients of the disease. One patient of the disease died on Tuesday which pushed the count of the dead to 43 in the state. The health department discharged 35 patients of the disease on the day from different hospitals of the state after their recovery from the disease. A total of 2621 patients have so far recovered from the disease in the state. The recovery rate in Uttarakhand is at 81.15 percent and the state is among the top ranking states in the country in this aspect.
On Tuesday the authorities reported 25 patients of the disease from Udham Singh Nagar district while 18 new patients surfaced from Dehradun. In Haridwar seven patients were reported while five patients were found in Nainital district. Three patients each of Covid-19 were reported from Pauri, Pithoragarh and Uttarkashi districts on Tuesday. Similarly two patients each were found in Almora and Champawat districts while one patient was found in Tehri district.
A 75 year old male, positive for the disease, died at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital on Tuesday. On June 24 this patient was referred from Max hospital, Dehradun after being found positive for Covid-19.
The health department discharged ten patients from Almora, seven in Haridwar, five in Dehradun, three each from Udham Sing Nagar and Uttarkashi districts and two patients in Bageshwar district on Tuesday after their recovery from Covid-19. One patient each was discharged from Pauri and Chamoli districts on the day.
The state now has 538 active patients of the disease admitted in different hospitals. Nainital continued its number one position on table of active patients with 181 active patients while Udham Singh Nagar has 125, Dehradun 123, Uttarkashi 23, Haridwar 24, Pauri 11, Almora 10, Champawat nine, Pithoragarh seven, Chamoli four and Tehri one active case of the disease. Rudraprayag district has no active case of the disease.
The administration has declared 76 areas as containment zones to prevent the contagion of Covid-19 from spreading. Haridwar has 53, Dehradun and Udham Singh Nagar six each, Tehri five, Uttarkashi four and Nainital two containment zones.
