668 Covid positive cases, 11 deaths reported in State on Sunday

A total of 668 persons were found positive for Covid-19 while 11 deaths of Covid positive persons were reported in the state on Sunday.  On the same day, 591 Covid positive persons were cured. With this, the total number of cases in the state has risen to 24,629 out of which 7,640 are active cases and 16,573 have recovered. The total number of Covid-19 positive persons who have died in the state so far is 341. The doubling rate for Uttarakhand in the last seven days is 20.38 days even as the result of 14,167 samples is awaited. The recovery percentage of patients in the state is 67.29 per cent while 5.73 per cent of the total samples tested have turned out to be positive.

According to the information provided by the health department, of the positive cases reported on Sunday, 235 were reported in Dehradun district, 103 in Haridwar and 69 in Udham Singh Nagar. Among the other districts, six were reported in Bageshwar, 18 in Chamoli, 39 in Nainital, 38 in Pauri, 21 in Pithoragarh, 31 in Rudraprayag, 54 each in Tehri and Uttarkashi. Meanwhile, zero cases were reported from Almora and Champawat districts on Sunday. When it comes to active cases, Dehradun district has 1,809, Haridwar has 1,362, Udham Singh Nagar has 1,327 and Nainital has 995. Among the remaining districts, there are 278 active cases in Almora, 110 in Bageshwar, 114 in Chamoli, 175 in Champawat, 354 in Pauri, 217 in Pithoragarh, 162 in Rudraprayag, 433 in Tehri and 304 in Uttarkashi. Out of the 341 deaths of Covid-19 positive persons reported so far, 170 have taken place in Dehradun district, 63 in Nainital, 54 in Haridwar, 33 in Udham Singh Nagar, two each in Almora, Pithoragarh  and Tehri, seven in Pauri, one each in Bageshwar and Rudraprayag and three each in Champawat and Uttarkashi. Among the 446 containment zones in various districts, 20 have been set up in Dehradun, 34 in Udham Singh Nagar, one each in Uttarkashi and Bageshwar, nine in Tehri, 352 in Haridwar, 26 in Nainital and four in Rudraprayag.
