Tally of Covid-19 mounts to 12175. One death, 235 cases reported on Sunday
The surge in the number of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) patients is continuing at an alarming speed. The state health department reported five deaths and 560 patients on Saturday and Sunday. The authorities reported 235 fresh cases and one death on Sunday. The state now has 12175 patients of the disease out of whom 8100 patients have recovered from the disease. On Sunday, 352 patients were discharged from the different hospitals and the recovery rate now stands at 66.53 percent. The doubling rate of the disease in the state is 28.49 days and out of total samples tested 5.04 percent have tested positive for Covid-19. A 72 year old patient admitted in the Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital was reported dead on the day. With this, the death toll in the state has now mounted to 152.
The authorities reported 55 patients in Haridwar district, 49 in Dehradun, 32 in Tehri, 25 in Chamoli, 23 in Uttarkashi and 21 each in Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital districts on Sunday. Similarly three patients each were found in Champawat, Almora and Pauri districts on the day.
The health department discharged 218 patients in Haridwar district, 85 in Nainital, seven in Udham Singh Nagar, five in Pauri, four each in Tehri, two in Champawat and one each in Almora and Bageshwar districts.
The state now has 3879 active cases of the disease. Despite the large number of recovered patients on Sunday, Haridwar continues to lead the tally of active patients with 1095 cases. Udham Singh Nagar has 914 and Nainital 570 active Covid-19 patients. Dehradun has 541 active cases, Tehri 189, Uttarkashi 182, Chamoli 87, Champawat 83, Pauri 55, Rudraprayag 51, Almora 47 and Pithoragarh 41 active cases of the disease.
