Covid-19 tally now at 3124 in state; 2524 recover
The number of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) patients in Uttarakhand jumped to 3124 on Sunday with the state health department reporting 31 new patients of the disease. The authorities also discharged 22 patients of Covid-19 from different hospitals of the state following their recovery from the disease. In the state 2524 patients of the disease have won the war against Covid-19 which means that the recovery percentage of the state is a healthy 80.79. The doubling rate which indicates the speed which the contagion is spreading in the state is also at a modest 50.28 days in the last seven days. In the state 42 patients of the disease have died so far.
On Sunday 12 patients of the disease were reported from Dehradun district while seven patients surfaced in Nainital district. The authorities reported four patients each from Uttarkashi and Udham Singh Nagar districts. One patient each was reported from Almora, Bageshwar, and Haridwar and Pauri districts.
Of the 22 patients discharged on Sunday, nine were from Dehradun district while five patients were discharged from Haridwar and four from Pauri district. One patient each was discharged from Almora, Chamoli, Udham Singh Nagar and Uttarkashi districts on Sunday.
The state now has 530 active cases of Covid 19. Nainital with 188 cases has the highest number of active patients while provisional state capital Dehradun has 122 active patients now. Udham Singh Nagar has 83, Haridwar 26, Almora 25, Uttarkashi 23, Bageshwar 18, Pauri 12, Chamoli 10 and Champawat nine active cases of the disease. Pithoragarh and Rudraprayag have six and five active patients of the disease respectively. With only three active cases, Tehri district is at the bottom of the table of active cases.
The state now has 82 hot spots or containment zones to contain the spread of contagion. Haridwar district has 61 such zones while Dehradun now has six containment zones. Tehri has five, Udham Singh Nagar and Uttarkashi four each and Nainital two containment zones.
