2 more accused in the armed robbery case found in Delhi
Two more accused in the case of armed robbery at the residence of a technical inspector at Dehradun Regional Transport Office (RTO) have been found by the police. According to the sources, the actual amount robbed is still not clear as both the accused party and the victims are stating different amounts.
However, few leads have been discovered in the police investigation where the stolen money has been spent.
The two accused have been found in the custody of Delhi Crime Branch. They were arrested along with the firearm used in the said robbery in Dehradun. They have been identified as Man Singh alias Mannu and Iliyas, both are residents of north-east Delhi.
According to the information provided by the police, the procedure of bringing the accused to Dehradun under the B-warrant is ongoing. The investigation officer of the case has keenly interrogated them in Delhi, and they have accepted robbing on May 26 at the residence of RI Alok Kumar.
The wife of RI Alok Kumar, Rama Singhal submitted a complaint at the camp office of Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Arun Mohan Joshi about the robbery in their house on May 26, stating that that day jewellery of nearly Rs 20 lakh and Rs 5 lakh cash were looted by the robbers. She also said that the only reason that the case went un-reported because the accused threatened to kill their son.
However, her statement contradicts with the earlier claim made by two of the accused in the armed robbery case at the residence of RP Easwaran, owner of Abhimanyu Cricket Academy. The accused have claimed that they had looted Rs 1.38 crore from their house. If sources are to be believed the looted amount was about Rs 2 crore.
