108 ambulance service gears up for New Year eve emergencies
In view of the past experiences where incidents of accidents and road rage resulting in violence rise up substantially on New Year eve, the GVK EMRI emergency 108 ambulance service has pulled up its socks to rise up to the occasion.
The emergency ambulance service has kept its entire fleet in a state of high alert to meet any exigency during New Year celebrations. The company has directed its employees, especially those posted in emergency response centres, to remain alert and advised them to refrain from taking leaves during this period.
The state head of the GVK EMRI 108 service Manish Tinku said that data of previous years shows that the number of emergencies like accidents spikes on New Year eve. He further said that the service has decided to strategically deploy ambulances at the places where incidents of accidents are reported on New Year eve.
To celebrate the New Year, a large number of tourists head to places like Dehradun, Mussoorie, Nainital, Pithoragarh and Auli. However, the incidents of accidents, brawls and other emergencies spiral during this period of celebration.
Tinku said that the small change in the deployment of ambulances in Dehradun city would also be made on December 31.
The 108 ambulances would remain stationed at Survey Chowk, Ballupur Chowk, Sahastradhara Crossing, Rispana Bridge, ISBT, Jakhan, Rajpur Road and Racecourse so that they can reach at the destinations at the earliest. Read more posts…
