In a road accident near Mani Mai temple a car flipped over resulting in the death of one person while the other passenger is in critical condition. According to the Doiwala police the deceased has been identified as 20 year old Mohammad Shewan and the injured is 18 year old Mohammad Shahil.
Official sources informed that the accident happened at 1 AM on Thursday. Prima facie it appears that the driver was speeding and lost balance. The injured were taken to the hospital where doctors declared one person brought dead.
In another accident on Delhi-Dehradun National Highway at 9 AM on Thursday a roadways bus collided with a truck, injuring more than 10 passengers. The truck driver was also critically injured and brought to Mahant Indiresh Hospital. According to sources the bus was from Saharanpur depot and was travelling from Dehradun to Saharanpur. There were 25 passengers in the bus and the truck with which it collided was transporting gas cylinders.
The sources said the accident happened because the roadways driver was trying to avoid hitting a rider trying to overtake from the wrong side.
Due to the accident ahead of the Dat Kali tunnel, traffic on both sides was jam packed for sometime. The police after two hours successfully shifted the bus and the truck off the road, only after which the traffic could resume properly.
